秋吉台の地学に関する文献目録
秋吉台は, 古生代後期のサンゴ礁を起源とする石灰岩台地で, カルスト地形を形成している。そのため, 古くから地質学, 地理学を始め多くの分野での研究が行われ, その成果が公表されてきた。本目録は1903年以降の秋吉台とその周囲の地学に関する文献を収録したものである。
１．本文献目録で収録した文献の範囲
１）広い意味での地学に関する分野。さらに地学に関わりのある分野の文献も主なものは収録した。
２）1903年以降に公表された論文・解説等（論文・調査報告・資料集・解説・図表類など）で，物語的なもの，教材の類，随筆・紀行文などは除いた。
３）秋吉台（秋吉石灰岩）とそれを取り巻く非石灰岩古生層の分布域。さらに，秋吉石灰 岩地域が主体になっていないが，秋吉石灰岩地域に関する事象が記述してある論文もできるかぎり収録した。
２．本文献目録と目録に収録した文献の表わし方
１）本文献目録は「第Ｉ部：著者別目録」と「第II部：内容別目録」とからなる。
２）一つの書物の中で，項目ごとに著者が異なる場合には，それぞれ独立した文献として扱ったが, 書物の編集および構成によってはその編集者または発行者を著者として扱ったものもある。また，著者または編集者が記されていない著作物は発行者を著者として扱った。
３）第Ｉ部：著者別目録
イ．各文献は著者名でアルファベット順に，そのうち同一著者は発行年順に列記し
た。
ロ．各文献は原則として, 著者名，発行年，表題，掲載誌名，巻数，号数，頁数(p.), 図版数(pl.), 図数(fig.), 表数(table) の順で表わしたが，雑誌, 紀要の類を除き, 必ずしもそのようになっていない。 なお，本文中の図表類は示していな い。
ハ．欧文誌名の多くは略記した。略記した誌名の略表示は「欧文誌名および誌名欧文名の略表示」で示したとおりである。
４）第II部：内容別目録
イ．各文献は「論文・解説等の内容による分類」で示したような内容ごとに，それぞれについて発行年順に記した。
ロ．各文献は原則として，発行年，著者名，表題，掲載誌名，巻数，号数の順で表わしたが，雑誌, 紀要の類を除き, 必ずしもそのようになっていない。また，文献多くは簡略して表してある。「第Ｉ部：著者別目録」および「欧文誌名および誌名欧文名の略表示」を参照されたい。
秋吉台（秋吉石灰岩）地域の地学に関する論文・解説等の内容は，秋吉台がカルスト地形を形成していることもあって，多種多様である。これらを専門分野別に分類するとあまりにも多数の分野となり, また一篇の論文・解説等の内容が数分野にわたっていることが多い。そのため，本目録ではとりあえず関連があると思われる内容ごとに次の７グループと図表類に分けた。
古生代の地質・古生物：
秋吉石灰岩およびその周囲に分布している古生層の層位，岩相。秋吉石灰岩および秋吉地域の地質，地質構造，地質発達史。秋吉石灰岩に含まれている化石類。
物理・化学：
秋吉石灰岩の物理・化学的性質。秋吉石灰岩地域の古地磁気。
岩石・鉱物・鉱床：
秋吉台地域の岩石，鉱物, 鉱床（洞窟生成物・鉱物は除く)。
第四紀の古生物：
秋吉石灰岩地域から産出した第四紀の化石類。
カルスト地形・洞窟生成物・第四紀地質・土壌・地下水・気象：
カルスト地上地形および洞窟（洞窟形態，洞窟内の溶食形態，洞窟の成因・発達史)。
洞窟内堆積物。秋吉台地域の第四紀地質。洞窟生成物・鉱物。
秋吉台の土壌。
石灰岩の溶食・化学的風化。
カルスト湧泉の水質，カルスト水系，水文地質。秋吉台の気象，洞窟内微気象。
カルスト人文生態：
秋吉台カルスト地域における人文生態（考古・先史地理・人文地理）。
研究史・洞窟探険および探険史・文化財・文献目録：
地学に関する研究史。洞窟探険（ケイビング）および探険史。文化財（保護)。 文献目録。
