Album Description
One of the most incredible experiences - both musically and spiritually - I have had
during the course of more that twenty years - (Wow! It hurts to remember that its
been that long and Im that old) - that Ive been involved in Christian music is the
association Ive had for more than ten years with a unique, astonishing - sometimes
outrageous but always deeply committed - character named Gary S. Paxton. (Dont forget
the S, its one third of his whole name!)

You may not recognize his name but youll remember hearing his music. In his early
B.C. (before Christ) days, he had huge world-wide hits including Monster Mash and
Alley Oop with Don Gibson; Roy Clarks Honeymoon Feeling and Melba Montgomerys smash
hit, Dont Let The Good Times Fool You. He toured his hits across America, on the
early rock and roll circuit, as one half of Skip and Flip and the Hollywood Argyles.
But, more important than that, hes had a life-changing experience with Jesus
Christ...and naturally - and happily - that experience is being expressed in some
truely incredible songs. Some of them are already well known including the Imperials
great recording of No Shortage from the Grammy Award-winning album of the same name
and My Child, Welcome Home!. Other well-known recordings include, Ive Got A Piece Of
The Rock, Were Not Getting Older (Jusy Closer To God, If Youre Happy Notify Your Face
and If Nobody Loves You, Create The Demand.

This project reflects the, literally, the heart of a man. Aman who knows what its
like to be down...hes been there...alcohol, drugs, sexual perversion...the whole
trip! A man who knpws what its like to win - hes been there - sold millions of
records, national concert tours, bvig-money awards...and to lose...sunstance
overdoses, sanitariums, D.T.s, bankruptcy and multiple divorces. A man doesnt just
walk away from all that unscarred. And Gary S. Paxton didnt! But, what God has done
for and to Gary is nothing short of incredible...and the whole story is right
here...in his songs.

Album Description
Gary S. Paxton's second FORTRESS recording reveals more - adding to the foundation of
the first project - of the spiritual journey of this eccentric,
looking-in-through-another-window, super-talented musical genius. Memorable,
challenging songs...great performances and colorful, dynamic production makes Gary S.
Paxton /More a most unique and important body of songs.

Observations of a friend, Film/TV Actor and Radio Personality, Larry Black:
Astonishing, Outrageous, Incredible, Unbelievable. With these words, the first Gary
S. Paxton album exploded on my turntable. In an age of sameness, here was a man bent
on uniqueness...no two cuts were the same. I had to meet him.

I went to Nashville to interview a wild man in a red jumpsuit, funny hat, tennis
shoes and a wierd beard. I met a man of God.

God likened his church to a body with each memberhis or her function. God likes to
say that hes an armpit in the body of Christ. I believe that, in truth, hes a strong
right arm of the Gospel. No one can listen to a Gary S. Paxton song and not be struck
with truth. The point may be made with ridiculous laughter or painful tears, but the
point sticks.

There's a whole lot of God on Garys second project. He could have said , Im overcome
with the marvelous life Gods given me. Instead, to a disco beat, he wrote in language
everyone could understand, Im Hooked On A Good Thing. He could have said how
important it is that you be ready to meet your Maker. Instead, he wrote whatcha gonna
do when the meat wagon comes for you?

I believe that God has given Gary S. Paxton a special place in His body. I love the
man and I love the music that Gods given us through him. Enjoy it..he wrote it for
you.

Gary is nothing short of incredible...and the whole story is right here...in his

A word from Gary S. Paxton:

Dearest brothers and sisters of earth who truely seek the truth. This album is not
designed to bless most Christians although I pray that it does. It was put together
in a different way to provoke thought and guide baby Christians. I admit-and we quite
understand that this is a groping departure from currently acceptable contemporary
Christian radio programming. I already know that the lyrics and musical sounds will,
undoubtedly, offend many traditional Christians. I feel bad about that, but do not
apologize for being honest in those areas. Time - at least, mine - is short enough
and the young and totally lost far outnumber the saved. Watered down, social diluted,
rationalized by intellect, group denied, cheap grace, not half trying Christian
living is not what Gods most holy and totally clear Word demands. However, the life
and death matters that deal with whether or not we are truely Gods property and are
in Christ and belong to Him - or we are Satans property and belong to him are very
spelled-out and easy to agree upon. Some will misinterpret my attempt to use a tongue
and cheek approach, specialized musical arrangements, concepts, sound and lyric
paraphrases as a mockery of Gods laws and words. The Holy Spirit has pointed out to
me (and to other new generation non-compromisers) that Jesus would not go to most
churches in the world today if He was physically here. According to the Bible He
didnt then, so why would He now.

I offer my songs in this project for you to analyze, critisize, denounce them and/or
rip them apart. I beg you to look far beyond my feeble ability to perform them into
the serioius matters they deal with. Search your most inner heart as to where you
standon these eternally consequential issues, and ask God to witness your conclusions
and ask Jesus to o.k. are deny those conclusions based on the intenty of your heart
during your search and evaluation of those conclusions. Gos has one way of doing
business. You can pay Him now or pay Him later.

If I had listened to God thity years ago, I would have saved myself years of agony
past and years of agony yet to come( because of the ravages of sin, abuse, indulgence
and excess.) Thank God I understand that the agonies yet to come are my fault and,
even then, Gods kindness will give me the strench to endure and triumph. Praise God.
Such a deal!

This is what, I believe, the Holy Spirit directed me to tell you.

I offer these songs and performances in Christian love, meaning to hurt no one but
definitely ready to risk offending you to get your attention. Perhaps if I arouse you
enough, youll go to Gods precious Word to try to prove me wrong. If this project does
nothing else but that, it will be worth our effots and I will humbley thank God for
allowing it to be used for that purpose.Searching His Word will always help all of
us. Who knows, maybe youll write me a letter and Ill learn some Truth from you. If
youll try me, I ll try you.

Thank you for listening, searching for truth, drawing closer to God and being you. I
remain, yours in Christ and STILL UNDER CONSTUCTION by God.
